Foundation year

The Leeds Trinity University foundation year is for you if:

• you don't have the qualifications you need for your chosen degree course
• you feel you're not yet ready for degree-level study
• you are returning to education and want some help getting up to speed

We have ten different foundation year pathways, depending on which degree course you'd like to progress to at the end of the year.

The year will develop your academic skills and confidence through four 30-credit 'Level 0' modules.

These modules will introduce you to key concepts, debates and skills that will inform your second, third and fourth years of study.

Any previous relevant work experience and learning will be assessed and, where appropriate, accredited as part of the application process.

* If you would like to progress to Level 4 of one of our Primary Education with QTS-linked honours degrees, by the end of your Foundation Year you will need to have all three of the required GCSEs in English, Maths and Science.

If one of these GCSEs was not passed before the start of your Foundation Year, you will take a GCSE Equivalency test at Leeds Trinity.

You must also have a satisfactory interview with Primary Education staff.
