Following the Ofsted note that 'school leaders need to ensure that teachers have deep subject knowledge and to consider what curriculum design really involves in science' (Ofsted, 2019), expert staff within the Institute of Childhood and Education (ICE) at Leeds Trinity University have prepared a series of primary science development workshops aimed at supporting and developing effective teachers of primary science across the region.

What's happening?
The upcoming workshop sessions will focus on key elements of primary science to develop pedagogy and practise. Each session will be led by experienced primary science specialists and activities will vary in age phases and experience for the range of teachers in attendance.
This session (Wednesday 4 March) is the second of three half-day CPD sessions for primary teachers across all key stages are open to all teachers of science including science coordinators. You can see full details below, including links to the other sessions.

1.00pm arrival (1.30pm start)
1.30-2.45pm – Session A (Understanding best teaching approaches in primary science)
2.45-3.00pm – Break
3.00-4.00pm – Session B (practical and subject knowledge development)
