In a world where 72% of customers would rather learn about a product or service by video and 92% of viewers on mobile will share it with others, incorporating video into your business’s marketing strategy is absolutely essential. Join us for this Ad:Venture Project event with Leeds Trinity's Mark Willet.

.

And it’s not as time-consuming or costly as you might think – if you have the right tools!

What's happening?

In this workshop, led by a senior media professional at Leeds Trinity University, you’ll learn how to shoot and edit a short promotional video for your business, using just your mobile phone.

The workshop will cover essential filming techniques such as: Setting, exposure, focus, sound, framing, five-shot technique, and cutaways.

You’ll discover filming apps that can help achieve a professional quality look and feel, and iMovie, which can be used to edit your footage and export the final video which can be uploaded onto social media channels and websites.

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Know how to set up your phone for filming
  • Understand frame rates and HD Formats
  • Correctly expose and focus images (not just point and press!)
  • Frame subject material or people in an engaging manner
  • Storyboard and shoot to tell a story
  • Assemble and edit your footage into a sequence in iMovie
  • Add voiceover and cutaway shots
  • Export your video for publication on your Website or Social Media platforms.

Whilst we will be using iPhones in this workshop, everything can be applied to other makes of mobile phone.
