Leeds Trinity University Law Clinic offers free independent confidential legal information and guidance to members of the local community, who perhaps have no other access to legal advice services. The clinic also provides law students at the University with an opportunity to gain valuable legal experience.

What is the Law Clinic?

Law students studying at Leeds Trinity University (supervised by a qualified academic team) will provide legal information, guidance and signposting, for members of the public who have a legal issue or query. You are required to make a face-to-face appointment at the clinic to explain your legal issue, following which you will receive a written response.

Which areas of law are covered?

The areas of law covered are property/landlord and tenant/housing; employment law; family/divorce law; criminal law; contract/consumer law; access to education and civil disputes. We are unable to deal with any issues in connection to Immigration Law or any matters concerning Leeds Trinity University.

What isn't covered

It is not intended the clinic will deal with any casework or provide legal representation but instead it will focus on providing one-off legal information and guidance.

Where will the Law Clinic be held?

Leeds Trinity University, Brownberrie Lane, Horsforth, Leeds LS18 5HD.

The first clinic will be held on Wednesday 22 February 2023. The appointments will be in person last up to 40 minutes.

How to book

To make an appointment please email: legaladvice@leedstrinity.ac.uk and we will give you access to an online form to complete. We will review the form and check your requirements fall within the areas of the law we are able to cover. In cases where we are able to help, appointments will be confirmed via email.

Appointments are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
