About this event

This is the first lecture from the 'Beyond the Dark Clouds' lecture series - "Guardians and Servants of Life: A Catholic Vision for Just Policing'. This lecture will be given by Professor Tobias Winright - St Patrick's Pontifical University, Maynooth, Ireland.

Previously, Tobias was Associate Professor of Theological Ethics in the Department of Theological Studies and Associate Professor of Health Care Ethics in the Gnaegi Centre for Health Care Ethics at Saint Louis University, USA. He holds a PhD in Moral Theology/Christian Ethics from the University of Notre Dame, and an MDiv from Duke University Divinity School.

Dr Winright’s research activity focuses on Catholic social thought, just war and just peace, criminal justice and police reform, ecotheology, and bioethics.

The aim of our inaugural lecture series 'Beyond the Dark Clouds' is to support the university, with its Catholic roots, to have a voice in the public square about justice, law-enforcement, the police, the nature of education, business ethics, spirituality, leadership and contemplation and the arts. Open to all, we encourage you to be a part of these public discussions about how to humanise our world and to bring about the conditions that enable the flourishing of all individuals and groups.
