Work-based Learning
Work-based Learning at Leeds Trinity
At Leeds Trinity University, we offer a range of work-based degree programmes designed to meet the needs of both students and employers.
Our programmes offer a flexible, practical, and impactful route to professional development for both aspiring students and employers seeking to upskill their teams, with each course designed to support career progression, strengthen workforce capability, and embed learning directly into real-world practice.
Our pathways
Designed in partnership with employers, higher-level and degree apprenticeships combine higher education qualifications, work experience, and industry-relevant skills to create graduate-calibre individuals within your organisation.
Apprenticeships are an excellent way to raise productivity levels, improve staff retention, and develop a flexible, highly skilled workforce.
Foundation degree and Professional Practice
Foundation degree and Professional Practice Top-Up programmes are university-level qualifications that blend academic study with real-world, work-based learning. The courses are taught one afternoon or one day per week, with students expected to be in work-based practice for at least two other days per week (12 hours). Together, this creates a full-time status with the flexibility to balance study and employment.
