Placements

Our programmes are taught face to face at our Main Campus in Horsforth, with our School Partnerships largely based within the Leeds Metro region.

School Experience placements are based on your term-time address, including Halls of Residence. If you live within the Leeds Metro area, your travel time to School Experience will be calculated from there.

If you live outside the Leeds Metro area, we will use the Main Campus as the point from which we base your travel time.

The University aims to minimise travelling, by either car or public transport, to attend School Experience but sometimes it may be necessary for trainees to travel further due to the location of their term-time address from an appropriate School Experience setting.  Trainees may need to travel up to 90 minutes each way.  In exceptional cases, travel beyond this 90 minutes may be required, with some reimbursement may be available for the additional journey.

The School Partnerships Office will be available to discuss any School Experience location queries you might have.

Funding your teacher training

Most UK students can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of their tuition fees from Student Finance England or their relevant funding body.

UK students can also apply for a package of loans and grants to help with living costs while studying – you may also be eligible for a Training Bursary from the Department of Education.

We recommend sending a copy of your offer email to your respective funding body so they can add it to your application for student finance.

There are many eligibility requirements for statutory student finance, one being 'residency'.

If you have any reason to think that you may not be entitled to statutory student finance, it is your responsibility to contact the relevant funding body and inform us if you are not eligible.

Replying to your offer

When you’ve received decisions on all your choices, Leeds Trinity will wait eight weeks for you to decide which offer you want to accept.

You won’t be able to accept an offer while you have applications without a final decision – this is so you can make your final choice having all of your options open to you.
