1. Integrated professional work placements 
   Depending on the course you study, during your time at Leeds Trinity you'll have the option to gain additional practical experience as part of your degree. Unlike many universities that offer placements as part of an extra sandwich year, we work with you to find a placement that you can complete as part of a three-year course.
2. Excellent employer relationships
   We've developed relationships with more than 3,000 employers across the UK, giving you access to placement opportunities in a wide range of industries. These include leading employers such as Channel 5, the NHS, Mencap, HSBC and Leeds Rhinos.
3. Exclusive placement opportunities
   Thanks to our excellent employer relationships, many of our placement opportunities are exclusive, meaning you won't have to face competition from students at other universities.
4. Direct access to employer networks
   Through initiatives such as our employer networking events and sector seminars, you'll gain direct access to industry networks and contacts – networks that provide placements, volunteering opportunities and graduate roles.
5. Financial support
   We'll give you a placement allowance for every placement you complete, which you can use towards the cost of your travel.
6. Experience that counts
   Any professional work placements you complete during your time at Leeds Trinity form part of an assessed module, which means the experience you gain counts directly towards your final degree classification.
7. Go international
   We encourage our students to complete their placement abroad and can help you apply for financial support from available grants. Recent students have travelled as far afield as Australia, South Africa and Thailand for their placement.
8. Outstanding support
   You'll have the support of our Careers+Placements team every step of the way – from helping you to craft a standout CV and knockout applications, right through to mock interview preparation. During any placement you undertake, you'll benefit from one-to-one support and a wide range of resources to help you succeed.

Our Careers+Placements team can also help you to apply for any part-time jobs and voluntary experience during your studies, and support you to apply for things like postgraduate study and your first job out of university. What's more, you'll be able to access their support up to three years after you graduate, helping you make the most of any early career opportunities.

We are committed to giving our students a truly personalised university experience, which means you can access a wide range of support, tailored to you, at every stage of your university journey.

Student support

At both of our campuses, you'll be able to access Student Support and Wellbeing services. Their friendly and committed staff can help you with a range of personal and academic issues, making sure you get the support you need.

Our services include:

• Student Mental Health & Wellbeing Service
• Student support for pastoral and academic guidance

Students can access support from our Student Support Duty Managers until 5:00am, seven days a week.

Students can also access free, online support 24/7 through Togetherall - an online mental health and wellbeing service offering self-help programmes, creative outlets and a caring community through clinically mediated peer-to-peer support. It's totally anonymous, giving you a safe space to access support when you need it, in addition to the University's Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Service

We offer assessments for any student concerned about their mental health (accessed via an online referral) before discussing available support from both Leeds Trinity and local services.
Within the service we provide a range of short-term talking therapies as well as access to self-help materials.

Study skills and peer support

We understand that no two students learn in the same way. That's why we set up our Learning Hub, giving students access to personalised academic and study skills support.

As soon as you become a Leeds Trinity student, you'll be assigned a development tutor. They'll take the time to get to know you and your learning needs throughout your degree, giving you personalised academic support and helping to keep you on track with your studies.

We have dedicated liaison librarians specific to your course, who run training sessions to help you develop your skills. Our lecture and tutorial sizes are also a lot smaller than other universities, which means you'll have regular opportunities to talk to your tutors one-on-one.

You'll be able to collaborate with other students in our interactive study rooms, focus on your reading in our silent study zones, and research your coursework in our IT rooms and 24-hour IT lab. You can also work with our peer support champions – experienced students who can support you with everything from the transition to university, to writing successful essays.

Accommodation support

To help you settle in to your student accommodation, you'll have a live-in resident mentor. They're experienced and trained students who are on-hand to answer your questions about anything from housing to socialising. They also organise social activities throughout the year and help maintain the amazing sense of community that Leeds Trinity is renowned for.

Depending on the course you study, you can choose between:

A full year-long exchange

Apply for a full year-long exchange opportunity at one of our partner institutions around the world and really get to know another country and culture. Your year abroad would take place after your second year and you’d return to complete your final year, so you’d graduate from a four-year international version of your course.

A full semester exchange

You could spend a semester studying at one of our partner institutions across the world, earning credits towards your degree while having a life-changing experience.

International volunteering

We partner with international charities in countries such as Fiji and Uganda to give you the chance to volunteer on short-term projects and make a real difference to a local community.

Short courses

We also offer short-term opportunities to study abroad, including summer schools at our partner institutions in Sweden and South Korea.

Our Main Campus in Horsforth offers a range of on-campus accommodation options. We’ve also partnered with Homes for Students to offer affordable en-suite accommodation in the city centre, less than a 20-minute walk from our Leeds City Campus.

   Want to live close to your classes? Prefer to live in the city centre?
   We offer all our students the choice of accommodation in Horsforth and the city centre – regardless of whether they’re studying at our Main Campus or our Leeds City Campus.
2. Options to suit all budgets
   Whatever your financial circumstances, we’ve made living in student accommodation as inclusive as possible, with cost-effective options to suit a range of budgets.
3. A supportive environment
   We're here to help you settle in and enjoy your time in halls. With 24/7 security and live-in resident mentors, there’s always someone available to make sure you feel supported and safe.
4. No hidden costs
   Your accommodation contract includes utility bills, Wi-Fi and personal possessions insurance, making it even easier to control your finances.
   Prices are fixed for the duration of your contract, so you don’t need to worry about any increases throughout the year.
5. You can keep coming back
   If you love living in our student accommodation, you’re in luck.
   You can book from our range of student accommodation in any year of your degree.
6. Sign up for shorter contracts
   Our standard accommodation contracts run from September to July.
   This means you’ll pay less for your accommodation than other universities with longer minimum contracts. Contracts are also available from January 2026. 

What’s included in your contract?

All our contracts include gas, water and electricity bills, as well as personal possessions insurance for the duration of your contract. Free Wi-Fi is also available and campus has security 24/7 to ensure you feel safe in your new home.

How to apply 

Once you’ve made Leeds Trinity your firm choice, you’ll receive an email inviting you to create an accommodation account, along with details on what to do next.

Only applicants who make Leeds Trinity their firm choice can apply for accommodation.

Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend applying as soon as possible to secure your preferred choice of accommodation.

Don't want to live in our accommodation?

If living in our student accommodation isn’t for you, then privately rented accommodation could be an option during your first year.

We recommend you contact Unipol – they have extensive experience of providing accommodation for students in the private sector.

Amazing nightlife

In Leeds, you’ll find some of the best nightlife in the North of England. At Leeds Trinity, you’ll have access to a fantastic range of fitness facilities and opportunities for both social and competitive sport at our Main Campus in Horsforth.

Every student is invited to get involved, no matter which course or campus you study at.

Trinity Sport

Our Trinity Sport team works in partnership with Leeds Trinity Students’ Union to offer a wide variety of activities.

They’re a friendly, passionate team that’s here to help you make the most of your time at university -so if they don’t currently offer a sport you enjoy, just ask and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Social sport

If you’re new to a sport, try one of our ‘give it a go’ sessions in activities such as running, basketball and pickleball.

These fun, informal sessions are free and open to all students, whatever your ability.

Represent LTU

If you’re looking for a challenge, you can represent Leeds Trinity in local leagues or as part of our Students’ Union BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) teams.

Our clubs currently include everything from football and netball to cheerleading and karate - with new teams forming all the time.

Talented Athlete Support Package (TASP)

Our Talented Athlete Support Package provides tailored support for dual-career athletes competing at a high level in their sport, helping them balance their studies with their sporting commitments.
As a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) accredited site, Leeds Trinity recognises and supports the unique needs of gifted student athletes through enhanced academic flexibility and understanding.

Trinity Fitness

Trinity Fitness is home to our Main Campus Sports Centre and Fitness Suite. We’ve invested millions in the latest equipment and facilities, including:

• a fully equipped Fitness Suite with Technogym equipment, cardio and free weights areas, and a functional training zone
• a studio with Technogym bikes for Studio Cycling
• a 3G AstroTurf pitch, fully accredited by the FA
• indoor sports hall and courts for badminton, table tennis, netball, basketball, indoor hockey and volleyball
• outdoor rugby and football pitches
• athletics track and outdoor hard courts for netball and tennis

Membership is simple and budget-friendly, giving you access to all facilities, classes and personal training support. You can also use the Technogym app to book sessions, track workouts and access on-demand classes from anywhere.
