The Lead Partner Model offers Primary and Secondary PGCE courses through a partnership of local schools or a training hub such as Leeds SCITT and Leeds Trinity University.

This is ideal for any graduate who wishes to complete their teacher training within a school environment.

It allows you to experience first-hand what pupils find difficult in your subject and you'll work directly with your lead subject tutor to meet these challenges.

You'll be based in a school from day one and your training will be very hands-on.

The practical nature of the course fully prepared me to teach. I was confident in starting my career and have been able to progress in my department. I am now the Lead Tutor for my subject with the skills I gained from the Leeds SCITT course.

While you’ll spend very little time at Leeds Trinity University, you’ll still be able to access all the specialist support that you would expect from a University.

In Leeds SCITT partner schools you will:

  • be immersed in the school environment from week one
  • have the opportunity to reach your full potential
  • work professionally alongside colleagues within a department
  • receive comprehensive expert mentoring with experienced teachers' support
  • have full access to ICT facilities and specialist teaching equipment
