Our NCTJ-accredited MA Journalism course combines newsroom training, multimedia skills and expert teaching to prepare you for a dynamic career in broadcast, print, digital or data journalism.

The course is not an easy ride - you’re expected to turn up every day ready to graft! But if you want to be a journalist you will love every minute of it, every day is equipping you to be the best reporter/broadcaster you can be. My favourite aspect of the course was the hands-on practical training, learning how to film and edit video, how to interview someone on their doorstep and eventually hosting our own news programme and reading the news for BCB radio towards the end of the course. After a bulk of exams at the beginning of the year, this felt like a big, fun reward!

Studying in our Media Centre, you'll have access to the latest media technology, industry-leading production spaces and specialist equipment. This includes fully-equipped TV, radio and photography studios and dedicated professional video editing suites and production rooms. You'll be trained and supported to produce high-quality professional work.

Our TV studios include lighting rigs, autocue, vision mixers, and a shared video storage server that combine to create an integrated production environment.

Six dedicated professional video editing suites and production rooms are located throughout the Media Centre, offering a choice of individual or shared working spaces.

Photography studios

Our photography facilities include two studio spaces offering Elinchrom studio flash heads, a dedicated product photography table, props store and ceiling mounted backdrops. We also have a dark room with sinks, drying cabinets and a range of professional film processing equipment.
