Your Horsforth

In 2017, The Sunday Times named Horsforth one of the top ten most desirable postcodes in the UK. Here are just some of the reasons why we think you’ll love calling Horsforth home.

If you’re a foodie, you’ll be spoiled for choice as you’ll find some of Leeds’ top-rated restaurants in Horsforth. From traditional Italian meals at Trattoria Il Forno, to delicious Malaysian food at MyMakan and mouth-watering Slap and Pickle burgers at The Old King’s Arms, there’s plenty to satisfy your tastebuds. If you love to cook, the Monthly Farmer’s Market offers a rich variety of fresh produce.

Horsforth’s Town Street is lined with bars, microbreweries and independent cafés to explore, making it a firm favourite with our students. Popular pubs The Old Ball and The Queen’s Arms are also just a stone’s throw from campus. You’ll find treasures in Horsforth’s independent boutiques from clothing to antiques and more.

Horsforth Arts Society hold regular events and workshops in their studios, and the Walk of Art community festival delights each year. Horsforth is also home to several sports clubs, including Horsforth Cricket Club, Tennis Club and Yarnbury Rugby Club.

Student life can sometimes feel busy. Luckily, Horsforth is one of the greenest suburbs of Leeds, meaning you’ll have lots of relaxing places to explore on your doorstep. Our favourites include Hunger Hills Woods, which is particularly beautiful when the bluebells appear in the spring, and Horsforth Hall Park with its stunning Japanese Gardens. You could even hop in a taxi and visit the llamas and alpacas at the nearby None Go Bye Farm. For those who love a real adventure, the dramatic Yorkshire Dales are just a short drive away.
