Your offer conditions

Your offer is subject to the following conditions:

  • proof of qualifications that meet our minimum entry requirements
  • a suitable medical report
  • a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure Certificate
  • two satisfactory references before you begin the programme.

If you accept your offer to train at Leeds Trinity, you will need to complete the below steps in order to satisfy the conditions of your offer by 31 July 2024.

Select the age range you'll be studying below:

  • Apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced check. We use an external company called First Advantage online disclosures to provide this service. If you make Leeds Trinity your firm choice, you will receive an email inviting you to register with First Advantage - Know Your People, and complete your online DBS application.

  • If you have lived outside the United Kingdom for a period of more than six months within the last five years, you will be required to provide a police check from that country to cover that time. Further information regarding obtaining a police check from other countries is available via the gov.uk website.

  • If you make Leeds Trinity your firm choice, our occupational health provider Heales will be in touch to go through the health check process.

  • Provide an image or scan of your degree (if awarded), any additional higher qualifications, and your GCSE Maths, Science and English certificates to ITTadmissions@leedstrinity.ac.uk

Pre-course audits

You will need to complete your pre-course audits before you begin your PGCE in September. These tasks are designed to allow you to self-evaluate your subject knowledge and identify where further study may be required to ensure you’re prepared for the start of the course.

If required, GCSE equivalency tests are available through our listed providers:

Please note, we only accept equivalency tests from the three providers listed.

Placements

If your term-time address is in the Leeds Metro area, we will use this address as the point from which we will calculate your travel time and distance for your placement.

If you live outside the Leeds Metro area during term time, we will use the Leeds Trinity campus as the point from which we will make these calculations.

In most cases, we can place trainees in a school within a radius of 1.5 hours travel time (whether by car or public transport).

Only in exceptional circumstances will we be able to support placements outside of these criteria.

Funding your teacher training

Most UK students can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of their tuition fees from Student Finance England or their relevant funding body.

UK students can also apply for a package of loans and grants to help with living costs while studying – youmay also be eligible for a Training Bursary from the Department of Education.

We recommend sending a copy of your offer email to your respective funding body so they can add it to your application for student finance.

There are many eligibility requirements for statutory student finance, one being 'residency'.

If you have any reason to think that you may not be entitled to statutory student finance, it is your responsibility to contact the relevant funding body and inform us if you are not eligible.

Replying to your offer

When you’ve received decisions on all your choices, you’ll then have ten days to make your final decision on which offer to accept.

You won’t be able to accept an offer while you have applications without a final decision – this is so you can make your final choice having all of your options open to you.

To reply to your offers, visit the gov.uk website.
