Seven? academic staff at Leeds Trinity University have been awarded Senior Fellowships from the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), in recognition of the quality of their teaching and leadership.
Dr James Jackson (Senior Lecturer in Psychology), Kirstie Grace (Senior Lecturer in Sport, Health and Nutrition), Amy Lund (Senior Teaching Fellow in Journalism), ???Dr Ann Marie Mealey (Senior Lecturer in Theology), Catherine Rowlands (Senior Lecturer in Sport, Health and Physical Education), Dr Alison Torn (Senior Teaching Fellow in Psychology) and Dr Lisa Webster (Senior Lecturer in Psychology) are recipients of the SFHEA, which encourages university teaching staff to reflect on their experiences in leadership and learning provision.
SFHEA recipients have to demonstrate their commitment to teaching, learning and student experience, engaging in processes that inspire research, reflection and development. It is recognised by a growing number of international institutions, and is increasingly valued by employers across the education sector in appointing for management and leadership positions.
Dr Ann Marie Mealey, Senior Lecturer in Theology and recipient of the SFHEA, said: "I am delighted to achieve the status of Senior Fellow of the HEA. The process has enabled me to reflect on my career development since I began teaching at Leeds Trinity as well as to consider how I have led Periodic Reviews and programme and module development in recent years.
"I am grateful to my colleagues for giving me the opportunity to lead on projects related to teaching and learning in the University and for being so supportive of my application."
Professor Ray Lloyd, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University, added: "It is fantastic to see the appointment of seven Senior Fellowships across the university.
