Join us for the virtual launch of An Insubstantial Universe, an anthology of original poetry in celebration of the 2019 bicentenary of the birth of George Eliot.

What’s happening?

Edited by Amina Alyal and Edwin Stockdale, An Insubstantial Universe was recently published by Yaffle Press, and this virtual launch will kick off with an introduction from Amina Alyal, Edwin Stockdale, Karen Sayer and Jane de Gay. Guests will enjoy readings from the anthology from poets in the collection and explore the significance of the bicentenary of the birth of George Eliot with historical and literary experts.

Tuesday 12 May 5.00 – 8.00pm

Where?

In compliance with current social distancing guidelines, this event will be delivered remotely through a Zoom meeting.

Who should attend?

The event is being delivered by the Leeds Centre for Victorian Studies and all are welcome to join. This event will be of interest to students on Victorian Studies or History courses; those with an interest in works by George Eliot, or anyone who enjoys poetry.
