Journalism and Media Week (JMW) brings some of the most talented and well-respected people in the industry to Leeds.
Each year, students are able to hear directly from industry experts - representing the UK’s leading broadcasters, newspapers, magazines and digital media organisations.
Over a week of talks, workshops, Q&A sessions and networking opportunities, these world-renowned broadcasters, journalists and industry leaders provide a unique insight into what it’s like working in today’s Journalism and Media industries. The programme often includes a number of Leeds Trinity alumni.
Journalism and Media Week is open to students at Leeds Trinity University, students from schools, colleges, and other universities, prospective students, journalists and members of the public.
Journalism and Media Week 2025
In November 2025 we held the seventeenth edition of this landmark event, welcoming speakers from the worlds of journalism, media, film and photography. Over four days (Monday 10 - Thursday 13 November), our students and recent graduates were able to hear from a range of individuals who have been active in their roles for years, discovering what inspired them to choose their careers, the challenges they faced and more.
Journalism and Media Week gives attendees a rare opportunity to get up close and network with their heroes and learn from professionals seen on TV, heard on the radio and working behind the scenes to make it all come together.
Our key speakers this year included Evan Davis, Katharine Viner and Reeta Chakrabarti.
