Leeds Trinity University's history dates back to the early 1960s when two Catholic teacher training colleges were founded in Leeds – Trinity College for women and All Saints College for men.
The original building work was completed at about the same time England won the World Cup in 1966. The two colleges opened in September 1966 and merged to become Leeds Trinity & All Saints in 1980.
In 2012, the institution was granted full university status and became Leeds Trinity University. Browse our background by decade below.
