Subject Focus Days

Criminology and Sociology

Criminology and Sociology Overview

With the skills and experience you’ll gain from studying Criminology and Sociology, you’ll be prepared to build a successful career in a range of industries – including the police force, local government, charities and education.

You can follow your interests and study Criminology and Sociology individually, combine them together, or combine them with Police Studies or Law.

During your studies you’ll delve into the history, theory and practical application of criminology and sociology – developing the experience and transferable skills you need to secure employment, or build the perfect foundation for you to pursue postgraduate study.

As one of only a few UK universities to include professional work placements with every degree, we’ll also give you the opportunity to put your skills into practice. This means you’ll graduate with relevant industry experience and contacts – without taking a year out.

“We aim to deliver a high quality student experience and to produce well-rounded and informed graduates who are highly employable and ready to contribute to society.”
