Leeds Trinity University has partnered with West Yorkshire Police to educate the next generation of police officers.

There are two entry routes to becoming a Police Officer:

  • Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (non-degree holder route)
  • Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice (degree holder route).

You'll be employed as a paid Police Officer from day one, and will be mentored by experienced officers at West Yorkshire Police, alongside studying for a qualification with Leeds Trinity University.

Applications for both programmes are made directly to West Yorkshire Police and information regarding the application process, and recruitment cycles can be found on their website.

Non-degree holder route

Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship

On this route you are employed as an Apprentice Police Constable, completing a degree in Professional Policing Practice.
