Join us for a PGCE Teacher Training Virtual Open Day on Saturday 8 May 2021, (11.00am to 1.00pm).

Leeds Trinity has been training teachers for more than 50 years, with an excellent reputation in the region for supportive and successful training.

Our wide range of Primary and Secondary PGCE courses combine expert tuition from experienced teachers at university, integrated with supportive placements in schools.

Our PGCE Teacher Training Virtual Open Events will give you the chance hear from academic staff and students about the Primary and Secondary PGCE courses we run, the variety of study routes including University-led, School Direct and SCITT, and the hundreds of schools that we work in partnership with across Yorkshire.

You'll also find out about the application process and receive tips on how to prepare for your interview, as well as having the chance to chat online to representatives from our student finance and support teams. There will also be the chance to explore our campus from your own home with our Virtual Tour.

Welcome

An introduction to the virtual event, Leeds Trinity University and the different routes into teaching we offer, including University-led, School Direct and School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).

Routes into Teaching 

A panel with academic and support staff to discuss and answer questions on the different teaching routes. Panel members include:

Placement Opportunities

You’ll hear a short presentation about our placement opportunities and will have the chance to have your questions answered by our panel.

Application Process

You’ll watch an informative video about the application process and interview tips, plus you’ll be able to ask our Admissions team any questions you have throughout the session.

A panel with our PGCE students to discuss their experiences and answer your questions. Panel members include:

Close of event

During the event, you’ll be able to access informative handouts about our PGCEs and PGCE finance. You can also view resources from our school partners and presentations on the application and interview process via Go to Stage. During the virtual event, you’ll be able to ask any questions you may have and have these answered by academic and admissions staff.

We offer a variety of routes into the teaching profession, as well as a wide variety of subjects and age phases, so you can select the route best suited for you and your future teaching career.

On this Open Day, you'll learn about our University-led route and two school-led routes - SCITT and School Direct - for Primary and Secondary PGCEs.

All three routes lead to qualified teacher status (QTS) and a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE).
