Tuition fees and loans

Leeds Trinity postgraduate PGCE tuition fees for UK Home students are £9,250 in 2024-25.

Paying your tuition fees

Eligible UK Home students can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of their tuition fees from the government which you repay gradually through monthly repayments.

Students who do not take out a tuition fee loan or who are not eligible for a tuition fee loan will need to make payment of the tuition fees directly to Leeds Trinity in line with the Student Financial Regulations.

For more information on paying your fees yourself directly to Leeds Trinity, please contact Finance@leedstrinity.ac.uk

Repaying your loans

As a full-time student, you will not start repaying your loan until the April after you leave university, and once you're earning over a set threshold. The threshold depends on which funding body your student finance is from (e.g. Student Finance England / Student Finance Northern Ireland etc.) and which year you started Higher Education. For more information visit the Repaying Your Student Loan page of the Gov.uk website.

International Students

The fee for international applicants wanting to study a PGCE in 2024-25 is £15,000. Get more information on international fees and finance.

If you are looking for Undergraduate Primary Education funding information, please see the Undergraduate finance page.

Tuition fees status and assessment

Tuition fees are set at different levels for Home and International students. Before you begin your course we must establish your tuition fee status.

UK students on non-salaried places studying full-time can apply for a package of maintenance funding from the government to help with general living costs and additional funding if you have children and/or a disability. For more details, download our Financial Information leaflet.

Students in England can apply and find out more information on the gov.uk Student Finance website. This website also has a calculator which gives you an estimate of what you will receive.

Students from other UK countries can find information and apply at:

All students can find information on repaying student loans on the UK Government website.

Students on salaried places or students on non-standard length courses will not be eligible for any Student Finance.

Financial support for EU students

EU Nationals who have settled status or pre-settled status under the EUSS scheme, usually qualify for Home Fees and can usually apply for student finance, providing they meet the residency eligibility criteria (where you have been ordinarily resident prior to the start of the course).

What funding you will be eligible for will depend on your status and residency history. Visit Student finance: Eligibility - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) for more information.
