Your Leeds Trinity University Library membership type will affect what you can borrow and for how long.

Borrow and renew

Undergraduates and taught postgraduate students

You can borrow 25 items at any one time in total.

Loans

You may:

Renewals

Items can be renewed via My Library Account unless they are reserved by another borrower.

Renewals are unlimited, unless reserved or overdue.

We will send you a renewal notice two days before items are due.

We will remind you when items are one, seven and 14 days overdue.

Renew overdue items up to seven days after they are due back via My Library Account.

If you have more than £10 of fines or items which are more than seven days overdue, renew at the Library help desk or telephone 0113 283 7244.

Staff, PhD and MBR students

You can borrow 30 items at any one time in total.

Renewals are unlimited, unless reserved or overdue.

We will send you a renewal notice two days before items are due.

We will remind you when items are one, seven and 14 days overdue.

Renew overdue items up to seven days after they are due back via My Library Account.

Fines

Staff, PhD and MBR students do not pay fines but if items are not returned or renewed in response to our reminders, it will be assumed they have been lost and you will be invoiced for the standard replacement cost.

Further loans are not permitted until the overdue items are returned or the account is settled.

If you are going to be away from Leeds Trinity for a lengthy period and require special loan arrangements please consult your Subject Liaison Librarian.

Local residents, external apprentices and SCONUL access members

You can borrow a total of five items at any one time.

Alumni

Alumni can borrow a total of 10 items at any one time.

Reservations

You can reserve items that are on loan via the Library Catalogue. Click on reserve in the full catalogue record.

You can reserve a maximum of 10 items at any one time.

You will receive an email to let you know when your reservation is available.

Reservations are held for you at the Library help desk for five days.

To review your reservations go to My Library Account then My Reservations.

If you are unable to pick up a reservation, due to illness for example, please let us know. If the item is not required by another borrower we will keep it aside for you.

Regulations, fines and charges

Regulations

We ask students and staff to respect the following regulations and those in the Acceptable Use Policy:

You must show your Leeds Trinity ID card before borrowing any item. You can borrow without your card once per academic year.

You may not borrow on behalf of another person.

Items issued on your record are your responsibility.

It is your responsibility to return and renew on time. The return date is displayed on your self-service receipt (or stamped on the date label).

Use the Return Book Box in the Andrew Kean Learning Centre foyer when the library is closed.

Use My Library Account to check return dates - click on my loans and options for renewal.

If you have any overdue loans you may not borrow any other items. If you are ill, please let us know.

Lost and damaged items must be paid for or replaced.

A lost or damaged item may be replaced with the most recent edition, in an 'as new' condition (with no damage to the binding, clean with no stains, annotations, pencil marks or highlighting).

Lost media equipment will be referred to Media Services for a charge to be agreed.
