.

What's happening?

Journalism and Media Week gives students the opportunity to hear from industry experts representing the UK’s leading broadcasters, newspapers, magazines and digital media organisations.

Over a week of talks, workshops, Q&A sessions and networking, these world-renowned broadcasters, journalists and industry leaders, including some of our own alumni will provide a unique insight into what it’s like to work in today’s Journalism and Media industries.

Journalism and Media Week has established a reputation for bringing some of the key figures in the industry to Leeds, and this year is no exception – with industry experts sharing their knowledge and experience via in-person and online sessions.

Throughout the week you’ll have the opportunity to listen to, work with, network and learn from a wide range of professionals who are at the top of their profession. Hear from:

  • BBC Journalist and Filmmaker Mobeen Azhar
  • Leeds United TV Presenter Emma Louise Jones
  • Former NFL player and BBC Presenter Jason Bell
  • BBC Sport Journalist Vicki Sparks
  • Empire's Digital Editor-In-Chief James Dyer
  • Controller of ITV's Content Services Sonny Hanley
  • BBC Breakfast Producer Claire Ryan
  • Former Downing Street Director of Communications Lee Cain
  • GB News Yorkshire Reporter Anna Riley
  • Marketing and Communications Director at Sky News Arabia Katie Golding

Plus many more including recent Leeds Trinity graduates and notable alumni who have forged exciting careers in the industry.

All of our speakers will provide a unique insight into their roles, how to get into the industry, what to expect, how to succeed once you are there and how to improve your chances of success. A full timetable of talks and workshops will be released in the next few weeks.
