If you are thinking of starting a business or you've recently launched your own business, it's less than three years old and based in the Leeds City Region, we can offer you support. We are looking to support businesses that have ambitions to grow and create jobs.
If you are starting - or have just started - a business then you probably will need help at some point with the following:
- keeping up with the market
- planning ahead
- managing your own time
- cash flow and financial management
- sourcing investment, finance or funding
- technological development
- skills and staff development
- harnessing innovation
- product research and development
What else can Ad:Venture help with?
- Expert coaching for businesses that need guidance to move to the next level – from experts in the field.
- One-to-one mentoring Support and guidance from a team of enterprise advisors.
- Networking - Opportunities to network and build contacts at events and workshops. Keep checking for the latest workshops and events.
- Finance and funding - Grants from £2,500 to £25,000 are available for start-ups and businesses under three years old.
There are some sectors that are not eligible for this project, unfortunately. They are primary agriculture, banking and financial services, activities related to education or social care, and those sectors trading directly with consumers such as retail and hospitality.

Liz Cable – Area of expertise: Social Media
Liz Cable is a strategic social business consultant and senior lecturer in Digital and Social Media at Leeds Trinity University. Liz has been teaching social media since the launch of Twitter in 2006. She will help your with solve your social media queries.

Mark Sebright – Area of expertise: Marketing
Mark is a qualified marketing consultant with over 25 years’ experience. He runs his own marketing agency and is a senior lecturer at Leeds Trinity University.
Amy Lund – Area of expertise: Public Relations
Amy offers expertise and consultancy on journalism, feature writing, online content, PR, promotions and Work-Based Learning. She joined LTU as a Senior Lecturer in Journalism and PR and is the Postgraduate Journalism Course Leader.
Andy Gilliland – Area of expertise: Business and Finance
Andy is an expert in business finance and accounting, with a special interest in Top and Bottom line growth, business development, new business finance, and business incubation. He is currently Academic Group Leader of Trinity Business, based at Leeds Trinity University.
Darren Harper – Area of Expertise: Radio, Podcasting & Sports journalism
Darren Harper is an experienced broadcaster with over 20 years’ experience, both here and in Australia. He presented a commercial radio breakfast show in Leeds for 10 years and is now the co-host of the LS11 Podcast. He's been teaching sports journalism, radio and podcasts for the last seven years.
Scott Sellars – Area of expertise: Intellectual Property
Accredited through the UK Intellectual Property Office and Coventry University, Scott helps businesses to identify, evaluate and protect their intellectual property. Scott currently works for the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce delivering one to one and group IP awareness sessions.
Kris Keighley – Area of expertise: General Business Advice and Grant Eligibility
Business Adviser for Ad:Venture Leeds & Bradford – Providing general start-up advice to pre-start and young businesses as well as routes to finance and grant eligibility.
