Psychology remains a popular degree choice, not only because of its inherent interest and applied nature, but because employers recognise that psychology graduates possess a useful combination of transferable skills.

Having been involved in the recruitment of psychology graduates in the past, I understand the need for graduates to be able to transfer theory to practice. The two work placements offer students the opportunity to do just that, in a real work setting. This and our carefully designed British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited curriculum, contribute to the successful employment of our students upon graduation.

Whilst lecturing staff are engaged in research and practice (which informs our teaching), teaching remains our priority and students benefit from greater access to lecturing staff and to the support they offer.

Jonathan Keefe, BSc Forensic Psychology

I chose Leeds Trinity as it’s close to home and I love living in Leeds. It's modern and I love the vibe and the places to go in the city centre. I liked the outline of the Undergraduate Degree and the fact that Leeds Trinity is a nice little community.

My course has proved to be really interesting and I've got great lecturers and tutors. They are more than happy to give you feedback as you write up an assignment as they genuinely want you to do well. It’s a fascinating subject, and I learn something new at every class. In fact I don’t even mind getting up in time for my 9am Monday morning lecture!

I had been in full-time employment before coming to university, and for me, getting back into writing up course work and revising for exams was the most challenging thing to start with. But with the help of the teaching staff, I’ve brushed up on my studying skills and it’s a lot easier now. I’m really looking forward to my work experience placement next term.

I love the fact that the Students' Union has got loads going on and that everything is close by. I’ve made a lot of great new friends to go out with and just generally have a laugh with (plus if I'm running low on food they let me borrow a ready meal!).
