Richie Anderson
BBC Broadcast Journalist
Immediately after graduating from Leeds Trinity in 2009, I started my job with the BBC as a broadcast journalist for BBC Radio West Midlands in Birmingham.
I love my job as it’s incredibly varied and fast-paced, and I’m using all the skills I learnt during my degree course. In fact, the only word to sum up my three years at Leeds Trinity is amazing! I enjoyed the fact that the teaching was very hands on and challenging because when you go out into the world of journalism it really gives you a good sense of editorial judgement.
The skills I learnt in radio broadcasting as well as the advice I received from my lecturer have been a massive factor in me landing my job. She gave me the confidence to go out and get into the media during the recession.

Primary School Teacher
My Primary Education degree course at Leeds Trinity exceeded my expectations. As well as providing me with the academic knowledge needed to become a primary school teacher, it also gave me extensive opportunities to practise and develop my teaching and interactive skills in the classroom as part of the course.
As a result, upon graduation, I secured my current position as a full-time, permanent teacher at a thriving primary school in Halifax. My experience here has been fantastic as it’s a large, multi-cultural school and I continue to build upon the great foundation that Leeds Trinity gave me to further develop my professional skills. I would say if you want to become a primary school teacher, apply to Leeds Trinity!
Andrew Morgan
Media Executive
I graduated from Leeds Trinity University College in 2009. I now have a really exciting full-time job as Media Manager Wakefield Trinity Wildcats after working as a Media Executive for Hull Kingston Rovers Rugby Club. My job involves responsibility for the club’s media output including press releases, writing for and editing the match day magazine, as well as liaising with local and national press on a daily basis.
As part of my degree I was fortunate enough to obtain a placement at the press office for Wakefield Wildcats Rugby Club. The professional placement during my degree proved to be invaluable as it gave me a step in the right direction and I received great feedback. Without the experience and high standard of teaching I gained at Leeds Trinity, I wouldn’t have got where I am today.
Jo Midgley
Office Manager and HR Coordinator
Leeds Trinity is the place to study if you want to get ahead in the jobs market when you graduate. Their placement scheme gave me valuable experience, and as it turned out, an introduction to my future employer!
I was interested in a career in HR so the second year placement of six weeks with recruitment consultants Dudley Child was a great experience. As well as the placements, Leeds Trinity has been arranging graduate internships to help new graduates onto the career ladder, and I was lucky enough to get a three month internship with the same company.
Now I’m working full-time for Dudley Child as their office manager and HR coordinator. I feel very lucky to have a good job with such good employers and I am sure that it is all down to the skills and self-confidence gained during my three years at Leeds Trinity.
