• IELTS: 6.0 overall (no component below 5.5)
• TOEFL IBT: 79, with Speaking at least 20 and other components at least 18
•  Pearson English Test Academic: 52 (no component below 51)

* MA Journalism and PGC programmes require IELTS 7.0 overall (no component below 6.0). 

Alternative English Qualifications:

You may choose to take one of the other UKBA recognised Secure English Language Tests (SELT) and reach the equivalent standard.

Applicants who have not met our English language requirements but have the appropriate academic qualifications may be conditionally admitted to an academic programme here after successfully completing an agreed period of pre-sessional English course taught here by our own English lecturers or by our partners: Twin Study Centre or Leeds English Language School . 

Validated and delivered on Leeds Trinity campus by our partner Twin Study Centre, the Leeds Trinity Twin International Programmes are designed to fit the individual language and study skill needs while the lengths required will be determined by the applicant’s existing English and academic levels.

Leeds Trinity Twin International Foundation Year Programme (IFY) , which is specifically designed to help international students to not only enter university, but also to have the necessary skills to complete a degree programme successfully;

Leeds Trinity Twin Pre Masters Programme (PMP), which helps graduate-level students to further improve their English and academic skills before joining a Masters programme;
