Sports competitions

Leeds Trinity University > Trinity Sport > Sports competitions
There are lots of sports teams to join for recreation and competition at Leeds Trinity. Students can represent the University through our campus sports and at a professional national level in affiliation with the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) – the national governing body for higher education sport in the UK.

Students' Union BUCS

Clubs are run by student volunteers and are supported by the Students' Union. You are able to compete in the British University College Sport (BUCS) Northern leagues by joining one of these. Matches take place on Wednesday afternoons during term time.

We currently have 19 teams which are able to cater for beginners all the way through to performance athletes. For a full list please visit the Students Union website where you can also sign up. This can also be done at the Fresher's Fair, which offers the opportunity to meet current members and receive all the information you require.

Further information is available from Simon Law, on +44 (0) 113 283 7322 or

Campus Sport

As well as our regular social sport sessions, we also offer a number of leagues across our range of sports for all students.

First-year residents in campus halls of residence have teams in these leagues. The leagues are competitive but fun and any Leeds Trinity student is welcome to join – no previous experience is necessary. We have sport leagues in netball, football and squash. Throughout the year, there are numerous touch rugby and Ultimate Frisbee tournaments to take part in.

More information is available from our Sports Development Manager, Sarah Todd, on +44 (0) 113 283 7100 ext. 357 or.
