News Experience:
During my undergraduate study I was Interviews Editor for Cardiff University's Quench (2007 - 8). It subsequently won the Guardian's Best Student Publication 2008. I was in charge of planning weekly content for the interviews sections that was relevant to both the weekly news agenda and the student readership. I arranged interviews through pr people and represented the publication at events such as The Times BFI Film Festival and The Guardian’s Hay Festival, producing exciting up to date features and exclusive interviews. I was responsible for both editing and design, ensuring that the section was cohesive with the rest of the publication.

I also regularly contributed to Gairrhydd, the weekly student newspaper, writing for the politics and opinion sections.

Special Interests:

In April 2011 I had a film commissioned by Sky News on one of the most important news days of the year. I submitted an idea focussed on Royal Wedding day coverage to the Associate Editor of Sky News; as a result I was commissioned to film and edit it for one of the Sky News programmes. I worked to a very tight deadline, filming and editing the piece, which was broadcast  on Sky News on the day itself.

From June 2011 - July 2011 I spent five weeks working at BCB Radio in Bradford.  In this Yorkshire based radio newsroom, I worked across roles as news editor, reporter, and news reader, to produce hourly news bulletins for the station.

I am a Contributing Editor of the World Reviewer, one of London's leading online travel publications. I interned at the magazine back in 2008 and have, since then, worked on a freelance basis. I go on complimentary trips both in the UK and abroad and write about my experiences. Working as contributing editor has enhanced understanding of multiplatforming. I upload video footage to the website and recently I was sent on a 'Twitter press trip' to Edinburgh; on this particular trip I was expected to tweet about my experiences for the benefit of our readers.Click here for more details.

I am also a paid travel blogger, writing online blogs for Gap Daemon; a site which aims to be the best information source for backpackers and those on gap years. Last year, I spent six months in Central and South America, writing weekly internet blog entries and travel tips for the website. Click here for details.

II am passionate about languages and have been learning Spanish for a year and a half; I think this enhances both my travel experiences and the articles I produce. When I’m not on the road, I love exploring my own country, and try to incorporate my excitement for travel into my home life. Most weekends you can find me exploring various UK towns, cities and landscapes.

I love music. I presented a weekly indie radio show on Cardiff University’s Xpress radio, working closely with a producer and a news team. I reviewed live music and arts events for the show and various culture magazines, and conducted interviews at European music festivals, such as Germany’s Haldern Pop event.
