Two men in balaclavas used a sledgehammer to smash the window of S.Manning jewellers and steal the luxury watches at around midday.

The shop in located on the corner of New Market Street and Orchard Gate, on a quaint and busy back street.

A third man was waiting for them in a car and eyewitnesses said they sped off down the street at around 60mph after the smash and grab.

Police were called to the scene shortly afterwards.
