Funding your studies - fees and living costs
Sources of funding
International students are not entitled to statutory support from the UK government (e.g. the ‘tuition fee loan’, or maintenance funding' that you may hear ‘Home’ students talk about).
You should start by contacting your own Ministry of Education or Department of Education to see if you qualify for any funding from them.
International Students might be eligible to apply for a scholarship. Most scholarships are for postgraduate study. You can find information on scholarships available by visiting British Council
Many international students are self-funding – they use their own savings or money from family and / or friends to pay for their fees and living costs.
