Information on additional support available from Student Finance England for students studing a full-time undergraduate or PGCE / SCITT course
 

Disabled Students' Allowance - Helps pay for extra costs students have to pay in attending their course, as a direct result of their disability. For more information on the DSA and other sources of funding available to disabled students see the Directgov website

Childcare Grant - Help for full-time students with dependent children in registered and approved childcare. How much help you get will depend on your circumstances and household income. You can receive a Childcare Grant during your term times and your holidays. Parents could claim 85% of childcare costs of up to £148.75 a week for one child and £255 a week for two or more children. You can apply before or during your course.

Parents' Learning Allowance - Help with course-related costs for students who have dependent children. How much you get depends on your circumstances and household income. Parents will receive up to a maximum of £1,508 a year.

Adult Dependent's Grant - non-repayable grant of up to £2,642 a year (depending on household income) for students with a family member who depends on financially on them

 

You can apply for this extra support at the same time as applying to Student Finance England for maintenance / living cost support and your tuition fee loan
