External Examiners
External examiners play an important role in Leeds Trinity's quality assurance and enhancement framework. At least one external examiner is appointed to every programme of study in order to provide independent and impartial advice on the academic standards set and student achievement against those standards.
The information presented here is to assist external examiners in their role. The Higher Education Academy has produced a handbook for external examining to provide sector-wide guidance and advice to external examiners. This and other resources on external examining are available from this

The Academic Infrastructure is being replaced by the UK Quality Code for Higher Education and it is expected that this will be completed by September 2013. Section 4: External Examining was the first of the 10 sections of the Code of Practice to be revised. Information is available on the QAA's website and can be accessed from the following links:
What the QAA says about Leeds Trinity
At institutional audit in May 2009 the Quality Assurance Agency found that full confidence could reasonably be placed in the soundness of Leeds Trinity's management of the academic standards of its awards and the quality of the learning opportunities available to students.
