Chelsea May (Business & Management)

Sue Ryders Care

“My placement taught me a lot. It helped me develop my team working skills and really increased my confidence in my own abilities. For me placement was very useful. I learnt that charity fundraising is extremely difficult as you haven’t really got a budget when planning events. Everyday was a challenge. The EPO found the perfect placement for me. They listened to what I wanted and found me something suitable and that applied to me.”

Liam Herridge (Film and Television)

TEAMtalk Media

"I learned a lot of things while on placement at TEAMtalk, I had edited websites before but this was a lot more professional, as I was working in teams of 3-4, we had to organize ourselves a lot more thoroughly. I also learned how to use Photoshop to edit images for the website and how to work in a team.

I learned that the working environment in an office is very professional, you need to be fairly confident in yourself to get on with your colleagues, but they do help you out a lot if you do need any help. Overall, I am very pleased with the skills and the confidence I have gained on placement. This will look brilliant on my CV.”

Daniel Lunson (Primary PE & Sport Development)

Leeds United Football in the Community

“I developed skills such as football coaching methods, speaking to large audiences which in turn boosts confidence, planning sessions with children and how to deal with different children with different characteristics and learning styles.

I believe that my placement has enhanced my commitment to my career choice.”

 Cerise Bonnacorsi (Forensic Psychology)

MHA Baytree Resource Centre

“There has been much talk in the news recently about the importance of experience when applying for a job, and a good degree is no longer enough to set you above the rest of the applicants.     Before I started my placement I didn’t know much about dementia, or it’s sufferers, but I now understand the condition a lot more and can now look at those who suffer from it with a more empathetic view”
