How do I access my email from the College campus (internal)?

 

There are two Email programs available you can use Outlook Web Access or Microsoft Office Outlook which has more features than OWA including being able to archive your Email and the ability to share your calender with others.

 

Microsoft Office Outlook

 

Click the Green 'Start Button' and then click on Microsoft Office Outlook.  If you need MS Office Outlook to be setup please call the IT Services Helpdesk to get talked through the process or they can remote on and do the setup for you.

 

Outlook Web Acess (OWA) 

 

First, login to the Colege PC using your username and password and this screen (see below) will be similar to the first screen you will see.  Simply double left click the envelope called OWA Email to access your College Email.

 

 

 

How do I access my email from outside of the college (external)?

 

 

Enter your username & password

  • username should be entered in the format: ad\username
  • password - your College password
  • Click OK

What is OWA?

Microsoft Outlook Web Access is a web based email system which features:

  • an inbox which you can tailor to store and manage your e-mails more effectively
  • a task list to help you to prioritise your daily work schedule
  • a calendar which you can manage in much the same way as a filofax or personal organiser
  • a contacts facility which is just like an address book in which you can store e-mail addresses

 

Is there a spell check?
Yes, when you create a message click on the message toolbar.

You may also specify whether or not to always check spelling before sending. Left Click Check Document to perform the check. From then on, the spell check will not ask for a language when you Left Click the icon.

 

 

Will email be available via remote access?

Yes. You can check your email off-campus the same way that you check it on-campus, using any computer that has a connection the Internet and preferably Internet Explorer 6 or higher.

 

 

What if I delete an email by mistake?

In OWA, deleted emails are automatically stored in a deleted items folder and can be quickly and easily recovered. 

 

 

Is there a help available?

Online help for OWA is available. To access this you need to click on the blue Help link located on the right side of the OWA window toolbar (see image below)
