Read about what other students/graduates/employers have to say:

"Thanks for giving me the confidence to nail that interview."

(Psychology Graduate 2011, gaining first graduate job after several rejections)

"I wouldn't be in the great position I am currently in without your help in getting me my first few jobs, as had I not sought your help and continued left to my own devices I'd probably still be unemployed now, two full years after graduating!

I often encourage my old Leeds Trinity friends who are struggling to find work or want a job change to get in touch with you as I can't sing your praises highly enough, you all consistently go above and beyond the call of duty and us graduates appreciate it so much."

(Media & Marketing Graduate 2009, gained internship through the Careers Service and subsequent employment)

"A big thank you to the Careers department for the advice and guidance I received in planning and achieving the final step towards my chosen career.  You provide a first-class service and play an important part in college life, with a wide variety of help available from highly experienced and approachable staff."

(English Student, final year, 2011)

"The Careers Services were a great help to me. I was given advice in my CV, job applications and general support. I now have been given tools that I can take in to the future and feel more confident when applying for jobs. Careers Services are very approachable and friendly and put me at ease throughout the whole process. - Thank you."

(BA Sport Development & PE Graduate 2009)

Why did you seek the help of the Careers Service?

"I felt that while still in university, I would benefit from using the resources and skills that are available through the Careers Service. As I didn't really have a clue what I wanted to do after studying, I thought that asking the advice of the careers team to help me work through the few ideas I had would be a good place to start. Also, the team have better connections with job agencies and universities for postgraduate courses as an institution than I would have had as an individual."
(English Graduate)

What help did you receive?

"I received masses of excellent information and advice that allowed me to make informed decisions about my future. As I opted to do a PGCE course I was given lots of honest advice for my application and in particular my personal statement. I think I re-wrote it about 15 times. The staff were very attentive and I was given lots of detailed and specific advice and assistance in writing my statement. I also went to the careers team for advice and tips on interview techniques, which turned out to be one of the best things I did as all they told me about education, teaching and secondary education I was asked about in my interview!"
(English Graduate)

In the light of your experience, what advice would you give to level four/five students regarding career planning and seeking help?

"I would recommend the careers team to anyone who has a few different ideas on what they want to do after studying. I would say that the team are not there to tell you what job to go into and that if you don't have any idea of what you want to do, then research it yourself and then take a few ideas along to an appointment, as I think this would be a lot more effective. I would also tell you that it is a lot easier to reach prospective employers and postgraduate positions within further education with the help of a professional who has endless amounts of information and easier access to this information, than applying without the support of your university."
(English Graduate)

"Dealing with Leeds Trinity University College Jobshop was not only an easy and pleasurable experience, but also a successful one. We received far more high calibre candidates then we ever expected to."
(Lisa Simpson, Employer)
