Contract
You will be asked to sign three copies of the Residential Accommodation Agreement which, together with the Accommodation Regulations, forms your contract with Leeds Trinity. One of these signed copies will be returned to you.
Various terms and conditions form part of the contract and you are advised to read carefully all the information sent to you before signing the Residential Accommodation Agreement. If you do not understand any of the terms and conditions or have any questions please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
In summary, the terms and conditions are that:
- An accommodation bond of £250 is required, which is returnable in full after the end of the contract, unless the room keys are not surrendered, there is a charge against the bond or you are in debt to Leeds Trinity
- The room is let until the end of the academic year
- Hall fees are payable in three instalments, in September, January and April, to correspond with the student loans company, although it may be possible to negotiate an alternative payment schedule with the Finance Office under special circumstances
- You may terminate the contract only if you withdraw from your course, or another Leeds Trinity student is prepared to take over the contract and we approve the changeover, as long as there are no other vacant rooms in any of the halls of residence. Students will be charged until the end of the term in which they hand in their keys and fill in all relevant paperwork.
- Leeds Trinity may terminate the contract for disciplinary reasons, if charges remain unpaid, if your course is terminated or for other reasonable causes
- If the contract is terminated, the reduction in charges or refund due will be calculated from the end of the term in which withdrawal or termination happens, or the end of the term in which the key is returned, whichever is later
- You are liable for the condition of your room and may be charged for loss, damage or cleaning (not fair wear and tear) within your study bedroom or within the hall which may be reasonably attributed to you or to a guest of yours
