Studio facilities in the centre are superb. Recently extended and thoroughly refurbished, a wide range of production equipment allows realistic broadcasting, recording and editing to take place.
- The television studio has three colour cameras, autocue and chromakey. A 'down the line' studio is housed in another part of the centre, remote controlled from the gallery.
- There are twelve AVID non-linear digital editing suites to complement the fourteen professional digital camcorders. Final Cut Pro is currently also being evaluated.
- A print journalism and broadcast suite contains 22 state-of-the-art computer systems with desktop publishing, graphics and audio editing software, used in conjunction with the latest Flashmic recording technology
- Two radio stations, one built to ILR standards complete the facility.
- The broadcast studio is fully equipped with IRN raw news feed and the news room has both BURLI and ENPS digital editing networks. In addition there is also a training studio in the Media Centre.
Experienced academic and technical staff are available to advise, train or operate systems as required.
