Disabled Students Allowances
DSA is an allowance provided by the government for British disabled students to help them undertake study with equal ease as their non-disabled peers. It is administered by Local Authorities (LAs) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In Scotland, it is handled through the Scottish Awards Agency . The allowance helps with the extra costs students may incur as a result of disability. The allowance is discretionary - this means that students are not automatically entitled to the full amount, but monies are allocated depending on need.
