The annual Destinations of Higher Leavers in Education Survey by HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) reveals that 93% of Leeds Trinity’s 2011 graduates were in work or further study six months after graduating. This places Leeds Trinity 4% above the national benchmark of 89% and 24th out of 123 higher education institutions in England.
Professor Freda Bridge, Principal and Chief Executive of Leeds Trinity, commented:
“We’re incredibly proud of our track record in employability, as we’ve been consistently exceeding the national average for a decade. The figure has climbed steadily since the economic downturn began in 2008, showing that despite a very challenging job market, our graduates leave Leeds Trinity well prepared to enter employment or develop their studies at postgraduate level.”
Leeds Trinity prides itself on being responsive to employer and student needs, and building on its excellent employability track record, 18 new courses have just been launched for 2013. These courses all have a strong vocational focus, including four 2 year accelerated degrees that will let students fast-track their studies and enter the world of work sooner.
Catherine O’Connor, Head of Journalism and Business, said:
“This is a development for Leeds Trinity that marks an innovative step, the two year degree courses will allow students to enter the world of work faster, with the same high quality qualifications having benefited from extended professional placements.”
We look forward to our graduates continuing to outperform other UK universities in next year’s release of HESA statistics!
