The annual tuition fee for foundation degree courses will reduce to £2,250 for Home / EU students for the academic year 2012/13. The undergraduate annual tuition fee will remain at £8,000 per year for Home / EU undergraduate degree courses starting in 2012. Foundation degree students will also qualify for a 50% reduction in their undergraduate fee if they top up to an honours degree course.
Additional help will be available for eligible students through fee waivers and other measures. Undergraduates on HEFCE funded courses who have achieved AAB at A level will receive a fee waiver of £3,000 in their first year. Leeds Trinity students who qualify for the National Scholarship Programme will receive assistance of £6,000 over three years, through a combination of fee waivers, cash and credit on their Leeds Trinity card.
Professor Freda Bridge, Principal and Chief Executive, said: ‘It is part of our tradition to recruit students from under-represented groups. In setting these fees and by providing a generous package of financial support targeted at those most in need of it, we will ensure that students with potential can benefit from higher education regardless of their circumstances. Over 33% of the additional fee income will be invested in financial support, access and retention measures in 2012 /13. We will continue to invest in learning and teaching, our campus and facilities so that future students benefit from a first-class experience and we continue to see high levels of student satisfaction and excellent graduate employment.’
