Leeds Trinity University is pleased to announce the revival of the local branch of the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain. The Society has had a long and successful relationship with the University, including sponsoring PhD fees for some students.
From September 2019 to May 2020, a series of eight evening talks will be taking place on campus and we would love you to join us. The talks have been designed to encourage new voices to contribute to the programme, and to act as a friendly space in which colleagues and students can take their first steps in speaking at academic events.
Each evening will start with one or two short presentations (up to 10 minutes), which can be 'think pieces', or 'provocations', or might be outlines of planned research, reports from conferences, or explorations of puzzling ideas or theories that speakers are wrestling with in their work. After a short break (refreshments will be provided!) we will then have a presentation of around half an hour from a more experienced speaker.

PESGB West Yorkshire aims to promote the advancement and teaching of Philosophy of Education, and develop its relationship with school practitioners. Our events offer a space for academics, teachers and students to engage in Philosophy of Education, perhaps taking their first steps in speaking, presenting arguments and ideas. You do not need to have a background in philosophy to take part; simply an interest in lively discussion and debate.
