Need to raise some money to start a business or develop an idea? Come along to our free event in Leeds city centre to find out about the different options for funding your business.
Leeds Trinity University is proud to be part of AD:VENTURE, a new project to support new and young businesses to grow and develop in the Leeds City Region.
On Tuesday 19 September, we're running a workshop about funding for your business - including local funding pots, start-up grants and crowdfunding.
Crowdfunding – what is it?
Crowdfunding is a way of raising money by asking a large number of people for a small amount of money. The money is then used to finance a business, project or venture.
Joel Hughes from Indiegogo, one of the largest global crowdfunding platform, will talk about crowdfunding – what works, what doesn't, how to plan and set up a crowdfunded project, marketing, content creation, shipping, fulfilment, and how to build your community.
Find out how other businesses have used crowdfunding to successfully launch their businesses, and see if it's right for you.
Befund – Loans for start-ups and new businesses
Rupert Shires from Befund will talk through the different types of loans available locally to start-ups and new businesses. He'll discuss what's right for you and be able to answer any questions you might have.
Through Ad:Venture, we're offering business start-up and growth grants from £2,500 to £25,000. Our business advisers will talk about these grants, and how the loans and crowdfunding money above can be used as match funding for the grants available.
