‘The Faith-based Curriculum & Priming Pedagogies: A Way Forward for Religiously-minded Educators?’ PESGB Seminar
On Tuesday 20 February, The West Yorkshire Branch of the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain (PESGB) hosts the next in its series of free seminars.
We are pleased to welcome Dr Ruth Wareham of The University of Warwick, who will be speaking on the subject of 'The Faith-based Curriculum & Priming Pedagogies: A Way Forward for Religiously-minded Educators?'
The seminar will take place in room LC1-28. This is located on Floor 1 of the Andrew Kean Learning Centre (the library) which has a separate entrance very close to the main university building. All floors are served by a lift, and the main entrance is at ground level. There will be refreshments from 5.00pm, with the seminar starting at 5.30pm, and finishing at 7.00pm.
Ruth is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the Spencer Foundation funded project, 'Faith Schooling: Principles and Policies' in the Department of Politics and International Studies. She was recently awarded a PhD in the philosophy of education from the University of Birmingham for a thesis entitled: 'Prohibition, Accommodation or Transformation? A Philosophical Investigation into the Moral Permissibility of Faith Schools in Liberal Democratic Societies'.
