Our facilities are diverse and specifically geared to different learning needs - some specialist and others more general.
Media Centre
The specialist Media Centre supports the delivery of practical modules in TV and Radio production, documentary and drama film-making, as well as providing a home for our own production company - InHouse@LeedsTrinity which produces promotional and training films for internal and external clients. The centre boasts a three camera TV studio and a second smaller TV studio also used for photography shoots. There is a state-of-the-art edit training lab with a choice of Avid and Final Cut Pro editing software. A radio studio, computer suite with Adobe Audition and other specialist software and a supply of flashmics are available and you can borrow cameras and relevant location recording accessories from the Media Centre using your student card.
Staff in Media Services offer an excellent level of support whether it is dealing with technical glitches or technical confusion and the Media Centre is open and staffed during term time from 9.00 - 7.45 Monday to Thursday and 9.00 - 5.00 on Fridays.
Andrew Kean Learning Centre
In the Andrew Kean Learning Centre you will find an excellent selection of books and journals which will support your studies and friendly library staff happy to help you in your research. We also have a very impressive selection of DVDs covering a range of film and television. These resources are regularly updated to ensure that they reflect the content of our modules. We also subscribe to BoB (Box of Broadcasts) which gives you access to an extensive range of current and archived tv programmes and films.
The Andrew Kean Learning Centre also has a number of computer clusters including 24hour facilities. IT3 is a computer room designated for specialist use by students in the Faculty of Media, Business & Marketing. The computers in this room are loaded with software relevant to our digital media modules and are used as a teaching space where you can work directly with the tutor as you engage with this specialist software. The software available depends on the particular module and also on what reflects industry use - this is reviewed by the tutors on a regular basis.
