The College’s compact estate means that most History teaching takes place in the teaching rooms of the main building, all of which have been refurbished in the last few years to provide comfortable, flexible learning space. Moveable tables and padded chairs allow rooms to be reorganised to best suit the learning activities of each session, while providing plenty of space to spread out notes, learning materials, files and so on.
Virtually all rooms are equipped with up to date ‘Smartboard’ technology, linked to the internet and College network and providing large screen DVD playing facilities, interactive whiteboard facilities, dynamic Powerpoint presentations, and save and distribute facilities for everything written on the whiteboard during the session.
Leeds Trinity University College also has a modern three storey Learning Centre, which houses an extensive collection of learning resources (computer rooms, electronic resources microfilms and microfiches, books, periodicals, DVDs, and course readings. This provides a much higher level of support than is generally available in most university’s ‘Student collections’, and is supplemented by student access and borrowing rights to the very substantial collections of the University of Leeds library, which is easily accessible by bus or car.
