Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) 
Leeds Trinity University College is one of three partnership organisations that manage HLTA assessment in Yorkshire and Humber.

Leeds Trinity University College offers preparation courses leading to assessment against the national HLTA standards. Leeds Trinity has been a provider of HLTA preparation since 2004 and has a dedicated and highly skilled team of HLTA tutors.

 

HLTA courses

HLTA preparation courses are available in a range of venues across West and North Yorkshire, including Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, Huddersfield and Calderdale. Courses are typically three or four day routes spread over a number of weeks.

Entry requirements

In order to be eiligible for HLTA status, applicants must be employed in an education setting and must have level 2 qualifications in English and mathematics (usually GCSE or adult literacy and numeracy).

 

Foundation degree

Leeds Trinity also offers HLTA preparation as a module on the Foundation Degree programme. Existing HLTAs can accredit their status to the Foundation Degree.
