Full list of courses 
The Department has been established to support practitioners and managers who work with children, young people and families. As such, many of the programmes available are work-based (full-time weighting, part-time attendance).

The list below identifies the attendance framework of each programme suite.

Degree Programmes

Attendance: 3 years full time attendance starting 2011/2012

B.A. (Hons)   Early Years and Education Studies

B.A. (Hons)   Working with Children, Young People and Families

 

Work Based Learning "Top up" programmes from Foundation Degree

Attendance: 2 years, one day per week

Please note that the programmes below are not available to non European Economic Area (EEA) citizens, due to the visa restrictions imposed by the UK Border Agency.

Work Based Learning BA Professional Practice: Early Childhood Studies
Work Based Learning BA Professional Practice: Supporting Young People, Children and Families
Work Based Learning BA Professional Practice: Education  

Progression from the foundation degree is also available to full time programmes:

BA (QTS) Primary Education in the Early Years (3-7) or

BA (QTS) Primary Education in the Later Years (7-11) (2 years full time)
 
Please note a progression route is not currently available for progression for secondary QTS unless students have a recognised subject degree.

 

Foundation Degrees (240 credits at Level 4 & 5)

Attendance: 2 years one afternoon per week

Certificates of Higher Education (120 credits Level 4) are available on completion of the first year of the Foundation Degree programme.

Foundation Degree Addressing Additional (Special) Needs
Foundation Degree Early Years
Foundation Degree Supporting Learning
Foundation Degree Supporting Young People, Children and Families

Certificates (20-60 credits):1, 2 or 3 modules at Level 4

Any Individual Modules or groups of modules from the FD programme can be undertaken.
Subsequently it is possible to accredit these towards the full programme.
