At Leeds Trinity University, we know that no two applicants are the same. That's why our offers are based on more than just your predicted grades – they're also based on your experience, your previous academic performance, and the passion and motivation you demonstrate to us during the application process. For this reason, we may be able to make you an enhanced or an unconditional offer.
What is an unconditional offer?
When you apply for a place at Leeds Trinity University, if you've already met all of the academic entry requirements for your course we will make you an unconditional offer. Your offer will appear as unconditional on UCAS and if you accept it, you're committing to study at Leeds Trinity University.
What is an enhanced offer?
If you have received a conditional offer and are eligible for the Leeds Trinity Enhanced Offer Scheme (which you'll find full details about below), we may be able to make you an enhanced offer that removes the A-level (or equivalent) conditions of your offer if you make Leeds Trinity your firm choice. This offer will still be subject to minimum GCSE requirements, along with any non-academic requirements specific to your course.
What is the Leeds Trinity Enhanced Offer Scheme?
Our Enhanced Offer Scheme has been created to recognise those applicants that we believe are a perfect fit for Leeds Trinity University by taking away the uncertainty of achieving a university place. We hope that by removing this pressure, these students will be able to concentrate fully on achieving the best that they can in their A-levels and other exams.
All our courses are part of our Enhanced Offer Scheme, however our Primary Education courses have their own Enhanced Offer Scheme with different eligibility criteria.
How could you receive an enhanced offer through the Leeds Trinity Enhanced Offer Scheme?
If you're eligible, you will be considered for the scheme based on a combination of the following:
- your previous academic performance
- your predicted grades
- relevant information from your application form
- your chat with one of our lecturers during your Applicant Visit or your performance at your Interview Day.
Decisions will be made as soon as possible, with letters sent to successful students and the decision communicated via UCAS Track.
Are you eligible to receive an enhanced offer through the Enhanced Offer Scheme?
If you are successful after your Applicant Visit/Interview Day, you will be eligible to receive an enhanced offer unless any of the following conditions apply to you:
- You have to transfer any credit from a previous course in order to start at a higher level e.g. transferring a Foundation degree to begin the final year of an undergraduate degree with us.
- You have been asked to write a Leeds Trinity Entry Essay.
If these conditions apply to you, you won't be eligible for the scheme.
Are you eligible to receive an enhanced offer if you have outstanding GCSE results?
If the entry requirements for your course include GCSE requirements which you have not yet met, you would be eligible for a change of offer. We would remove all Level 3 (A-level or equivalent) conditions, but you still need to meet the GCSE requirements. For this reason, your offer won't show as unconditional on UCAS Track.
What is the Primary Education Enhanced Offer Scheme?
Primary Education has its own Enhanced Offer Scheme. This is because there are specific academic and non-academic conditions that need to be met before you can study Primary Education and, as such, an offer could never be truly unconditional.
However, we want to recognise and reward exceptional applicants who we believe would be a perfect fit for our Primary Education courses, so we have created a Primary Education Enhanced Offer Scheme which removes all Level 3 (A-level or equivalent) conditions for eligible candidates if you make Leeds Trinity your firm choice. If you receive an enhanced offer through the scheme, you will still need to meet the minimum GCSE requirements for this course and successfully complete your DBS and medical checks.
Who is eligible for the Primary Education Enhanced Offer Scheme?
To be considered for an enhanced offer, you need to have five GCSEs at Grade B/6 or above which must include English (Language or Literature are accepted), Maths and Science. Your predicted grades at Level 3 must also meet the advertised course entry requirements.
You will be eligible for the scheme if you meet these conditions, but these conditions alone will not determine whether we make you an enhanced offer. Instead, we will make our final decision on whether to make you an enhanced offer based on your performance in the interview. We will be looking for the passion you display, your knowledge and understanding of Primary Education and the role of the teacher, and the professional attributes you demonstrate to us.
