Once you've applied for a PGCE teacher training course, we will invite successful applicants to an Interview Day.
Leeds Trinity University and our partnering schools have designed the interview process to be thorough and rigorous to find out the strengths of each candidate and identify areas that need to be improved before starting the course.
All applicants will participate in two stages of interviews:
Stage one: group interview
Stage two: individual interview and teaching-related task
University tutors and teachers from partnership schools are involved at both stages of interviews, which are held on campus at Leeds Trinity. School Direct and SCITT applicants can expect stage two, and possibly stage one interviews, to be held in partnership schools.
As part of the process, candidates are required to provide documents to verify that they meet the entry requirements, including:
- certificates for GCSE English and Mathematics
- certificates for GCSE Science (primary only)
- degree certificate
- proof of passing the DfE Professional Skills tests
Please note: DBS Enhanced Disclosure checks will be implemented once places are offered have been accepted by applicants. You'll not be able to fully register on the course until you have successfully completed the DBS Enhanced Disclosure checks.
