In your first year you will study a broad range of business disciplines such as Business Economics, Management and Organisational Behaviour, Marketing Fundamentals, Operations Management, Management and Financial Accounting and you will compete your first professional work placement.
You will focus on various topics which will include the following: Legal issues for Management which will provide you with the opportunity to learn and understand areas of English and EU laws which directly affect the legal structure and operation of business organisations; Marketing Communications – this module is designed to provide a framework to better understand the individual elements of the marketing communications mix and their effectiveness, within today’s marketing environment. Other modules include Financial Management and Services Marketing. Your Business Research module will give you the principles of social science research that underpins business, management and marketing methodologies. You will go through the process of research design and you will write a realistic, small-scale research proposal that includes an element of primary research. You will also undertake your second work placement.
You will have a variety of core and optional modules including Marketing Strategy and Planning, Digital marketing, Entrepreneurship and Creativity, Leadership, Business Ethics and International Marketing. You will also carry out a negotiated Research Project or alternatively, a work-based Research Project in conjunction with a local company.
